Being A Good Neighbour

Being a Good Neighbour is something that we all strive to be, but may not always have all the information we need to do. This page should give you the key information you need to be a Good Neighbour to other at The Point

  • Sound Levels
    • From 10pm to 7am is "Quiet Time", as defined by New Westminster bylaws. During this time all outdoor activities/parties on patios should be curtailed. As well, any parties inside should be quieter. The maximum sound level is 50 decibals. Basically, the "sound of traffic" should still be the only sound other owners should hear in their units
    • If you are having a party where you anticipate you will be louder for a longer period of time, advise your neighbours
    • If you have a complaint about the sound of a party, please call both the New Westminster Police, but also email ac.tniop-eht|ofni#ac.tniop-eht|ofni with the details so it can be handled.
  • Security
    • You should always wait for the Parkade Gates to close before continuing through or leaving the parkade. This ensures un-authorized people and vehicles do not enter thus providing better security to you. If you see someone follow you in, follow these instructions on the Security page.
    • All activities in the building are recorded by one of 32 video cameras. If you have any issues that require video evidence, please advise the Strata Council
    • Make sure you know who you are letting in through the Intercom. People have been known to say they are "Canada Post" delivering something even if they are not. You can check who is at the Front Door by going to channel 399 on your Shaw television.
    • Your key fob will only let you get to the parkade and the level your unit is on. If you have a storage locker, you will also be able to access only that storage locker room
  • Intercom
    • Plug a standard phone into any phone outlet in your unit
    • Press 6 to let someone in by intercom. You can view who is buzzing your intercom by tuning you television to channel 399
  • Using Facilities
    • After using any of the gym facilities, please wipe down the equipment
    • Keep the volume of the TV's in the gym at a respectable level
    • Store your bike in the Bike Locker only if you are using your bike. If you don't plan to use your bike, we recommend you sell it so we can ensure there is space in the bike lockers.
    • Before using the Pool, Hot Tub or Sauna, please shower
    • If you are going to turn the lights off in a room, or use a piece of equipment in a room, advise others in the room
    • Exercise patience and be calm when talking with others
    • DON'T JUMP in the elevator as this causes it to stop working with you trapped inside until an elevator technician can come to get you out!
    • Make sure you have adequate insurance. You never know when a washing machine might leak, and you don't want to be held responsible for the costs of repairs which could easily be over $30,000. Read more on the Insurance page.
